Our story

Our family home since 1961

Our father, Alfredo, built the house in 1961. Born in Brescia, he remained deeply attached to Lake Garda even after moving to Milan. When he discovered this piece of land, with its extraordinary view, he knew immediately that it was the place he had been looking for. He bought it without hesitation, dreaming of spending his later years here with Luisa, his wife and our beloved mother.

The house took almost a year to build, and it has retained much of the character and atmosphere of the early 1960s. More than sixty years later, it remains a place filled with family memories, a home shaped by time and by the generations who have gathered here.

Today, Carla, Anna, and Irene are the proud owners of the villa. We continue to spend time here throughout the year with our children and grandchildren, enjoying the peace, the garden, and the lake's ever-changing views. When we are away, we are happy to open our doors to families and groups of friends who can make the house their own, even if just for a little while.

The house

A single-level villa, framed by the garden

Set on one level and surrounded by greenery, the villa is designed for easy, unhurried living. Large windows bring the garden and the surrounding landscape into the spacious living room, where a fireplace creates a welcoming gathering place. The room opens onto a large, covered porch, offering a natural transition between indoor and outdoor life.

The fully equipped kitchen has a small dining area, while four cozy, comfortable bedrooms provide quiet spaces to retreat and unwind.

The garden is landscaped with local trees and flowering plants, with a majestic tiglio standing in front of the house. Its broad canopy creates a wonderful, shaded spot for long, leisurely meals outdoors.

Alongside the villa, a generous swimming pool with clean, contemporary lines and elegant finishes invites you to swim, relax, or spend an unhurried afternoon with family and friends.

And wherever you are in the garden, the view of Lake Garda is never far away, stretching from Salò towards Desenzano and Sirmione.

The lake

Salò, the Riviera and everything within a day trip

Set on the western shore of Lake Garda, Salò is known for its beautiful waterfront and the longest lakeside promenade on the lake. Its history dates back to the Roman settlement of Pagus Salodium. It later became a stronghold of the Milanese Visconti family before spending three centuries under the Venetian Republic. The legacy of that era remains visible today, with the lion of St Mark still watching over Porta di San Giovanni. Salò is also the birthplace of Gasparo da Salò, a pioneer of violin making.

From the house, the center of Salò is just a five-minute drive away. A little further along the coast lies Gardone Riviera, home to the extraordinary Vittoriale degli Italiani. Further south, Sirmione invites you to explore its medieval castle and remarkable Roman villa. For a different perspective on the lake, you can visit Isola del Garda, with its magnificent villa and gardens, by boat from Salò.

Practical info

Good to know before your stay

Guests

The house comfortably accommodates up to 9 guests across four bedrooms: two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, with an additional armchair bed. Children of all ages are welcome, and we have two cots and one high chair available for our youngest guests.

House rules

We kindly ask guests not to smoke inside the house. Parties and events are not allowed. Pets may be welcome by prior arrangement, so please get in touch if you would like to bring yours.

Safety

The house has essential safety features, including fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, and a first-aid kit, and has the required insurance coverage.

Amenities

You'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen and household appliances, laundry room, satellite TV, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, fireplace, barbecue, private swimming pool, and covered parking for two cars.

When to visit

The villa welcomes guests from 20 May to 30 September. The swimming pool is open throughout the season, weather permitting.

Bookings

In July and August, stays are from 7 to 15 nights, preferably Saturday to Saturday. The rest of the season, the minimum stay is 4 nights.

Check-in & check-out

Check-in between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Check-out by 10:00 am.

Cancellation

Full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in; partial refund if you cancel between 30 and 7 days before check-in.

Questions we get asked

How many people can stay at Villa Panorama?

Up to 9 guests: two double bedrooms, one of which also has an armchair bed, and two twin bedrooms.

Is the pool private?

Yes. The pool is inside the fenced garden and is for guests of the villa only. It is unheated and opens from mid-May, weather permitting.

How far is the house from Salò and the lake?

The villa is on the hills of Salò, in the Barbarano area. The town centre and the lakeside are about five minutes by car.

Is the house suitable for children?

Yes. The garden is fenced, the house is on one level, and we provide two cots and one high chair.

Is there parking?

Yes, a private covered parking area for two cars, plus space on the property.

How do I check availability and prices?

What is the minimum stay?

In July and August, 7 to 15 nights, preferably Saturday to Saturday; the rest of the season, a minimum of 4 nights. Check-in between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, check-out by 10:00 am.

Can I come in winter?

No. The house is not rented in winter; we welcome guests from 20 May to 30 September.
